Anna Wolf.

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Photographer Anna Wolf has done some beautiful work for corporate clients, but I like these quietly personal little books interspersed with cutouts of her lovely imagery, calling to mind handmade scrapbooks and diaries. Here’s a peek.

For more, check out her blog.

Sweet and simple pillows from Paper Cloud, adorned with sunflowers, mushrooms, dandelions, and onionpods. Paper Cloud, started in 2005 by husband and wife team Matthew and Ariana Broerman, offers these and other goodies in myriad color combinations.

As a special bonus, Paper Cloud is offering 20% off all their flower designs in honor of the [...]

Eveline Tarunadjaja.

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Sloe-eyed girls with abundant locks populate the dreamy scenes in Australian artist Eveline Tarunadjaja’s gorgeous illustrations.

In addition to the prints and originals for sale on her website, you can also find Eveline’s work on Hurley t-shirts, Obscura packaging, and in her lovely 2008 calendar. She’s one to watch - I love her style! [...]

Earmark.

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Love the varied styles of paper goods over at Earmark - I’ve found everything from sweet to cheeky to vintage to classic. Here is a sampling (and obviously, I’m nursing a soft spot for the Geek Love notecard).

Check out their Etsy shop here, or take a look at their website for more information on [...]

Got art?

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

This post is inspired by Merril - who, in the six months since moving into her downtown apartment, still comes home to blank walls every day. Here are some pretty and affordable prints and paintings, courtesy of the wonderful Poppytalk Handmade, the online showcase featuring emerging design talent.

Letteria.

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Loving these rich neutral- and jewel-toned prints from Letteria, a small letterpress studio located near Zurich.

For more, check out Letteria’s site and etsy shop.

Tara Donovan at the Met.

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Art and science collide again in Tara Donovan’s exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, on view through April 27. Donovan uses mundane materials (think styrofoam cups, straws, or loops of tape) to create sensual sculptural landscapes channeling biological growth. Here are some shots of her gorgeous, surprising work.

This definitely [...]

While we’re on the topic…

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

…a little more on the love theme from Caroline Colom Vasquez’s Austin studio, Paloma’s Nest. Here are a couple of her beautiful hand-formed, hand-stamped clay bowls. Gorgeous simplicity.

Bonjour, mon petit chou!

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Thanks to {frolic!} I’ve discovered another contender for my favorite bloom: the Yves Piaget.
I seem to have an affinity for flowers that look like cabbages. What can I say? Cabbages are kind of cute.

Studio On Fire.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Um, I love food, so these bold letterpressed blank-inside cards from Studio On Fire hit the right chord with me. I think I’d send these little quirky works of art to those numerous friends who also make a pastime out of loving butter, cheese, coffee, and especially meat (you know who you are).

Up against the wall.

Monday, February 11th, 2008

They won’t fit in an envelope, but these bold, to-the-point prints might be even better than a traditional valentine.
Dandy Star’s LOVE print, available here and here. (Via {frolic!}.)

Big, simple text somehow adds poignancy to Brooklyn-based design house I Am Still Alive’s letterpressed message, available here. It should come as no surprise that I [...]

Sorry, what did you say?

Monday, February 11th, 2008

This is genius. Seriously. I don’t have any further commentary.

Inexplicable naughtiness available singly or in sets of six cards from BellaMuse.
