Tara Donovan at the Met.
February 15, 2008
Art and science collide again in Tara Donovan’s exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, on view through April 27. Donovan uses mundane materials (think styrofoam cups, straws, or loops of tape) to create sensual sculptural landscapes channeling biological growth. Here are some shots of her gorgeous, surprising work.
This definitely makes my to-do list for my next visit to Manhattan!

Damn this is amazing work! Do you know how the whole structure is held together? I’m guessing each growth is constructed separately, then tied together somehow to create the entire mass of growth.
Enlighten me if you can.
