Friday, May 30th, 2008The Keep Calm Gallery (which, true to its name, stocks the print nearest and dearest to me) has expanded its offerings - and it’s all… I… can… do… to not grab them all for my walls. I love them for their vintage look-and-feel but modern sensibilities. Here are some of my favorites.
Incidentally, the [...]
Flora & Fauna.
Friday, May 30th, 2008Art-loving Bostonians will be happy to know that Space 242 in the South End is opening their fifth exhibition of the year today: Flora & Fauna, featuring illustrations, paintings, and mixed media by Joe Keinberger and Sarah Coyne. The opening reception is tonight from 6-8pm (visit the website to RSVP, if you can!). [...]
Par Amour.
Friday, May 30th, 2008I heard from Basak Miller earlier this week, telling me about her new line of greeting cards, T-shirts, and totes at the New York-based Par Amour Designs. Originally from Istanbul, Basak combines her interests in screenwriting and graphic design in these cheeky yet elegant cards (and you know I like a little sass in [...]
Stationery and Skirts, part II.
Friday, May 30th, 2008If you’re in the Brooklyn area this weekend, here’s another chance to check out Stationery and Skirts, brought to you by NicEvents and Kimera Design. For the juicy deets, see the invitation.
Mariella Designs.
Wednesday, May 28th, 2008Take a peek at these! Amy Branch over at Mariella Designs sent me these beautifully detailed, nature-inspired samples this week (much to my own personal, as well as blognerd, delight). Each card is printed with soy-based inks on recycled, luxuriously textured heavy-weight felt paper.
Check out Mariella Designs’ website for the wide range of [...]
Zoo and city in a box.
Wednesday, May 28th, 2008I’m into these toy sets from Superspace, a Copenhagen-based design studio founded by architects Sarah Müllertz and Stine Holscher. Despite the modern graphics and fresh colors, there’s something a charmingly old-fashioned about this wooden city and zoo in a box.
Via Black*Eiffel.
Only in Japan.
Monday, May 26th, 2008The MoMA store is featuring a limited-time collection of products usually found only in Japan, Destination: Japan. The 100+ items in the collection are all designed by established and emerging Japanese designers; here are some of the coolest (the pig lid is my favorite by far).

Books for cooks.
Friday, May 23rd, 2008From Angela Liguori, a gorgeous accordion-fold book that looks just as delicious as the Italian recipes printed upon it. Its beauty really lies in the details - a little modern, a little Victorian… I like it!
Angela was originally trained in book arts in her native Rome, but now resides in Boston, where she runs [...]
Boxes and bottles.
Wednesday, May 21st, 2008No one knows how aesthetics and look-and-feel can influence a product experience better than Andrew Gibbs of the über-cool package design blog, The Dieline. Here are some of my favorite items featured on the site.

Sharp.
Monday, May 19th, 2008These knives from Rockett St George boast both sharp edges and sharp wit. The cut-out letters supposedly help prevent crumbling and give you a clean cut; whether that really works or not, I’d be pleased to have a set of these offbeat knives in my kitchen.
Stylized botanicals…
Monday, May 19th, 2008…in these fresh-looking letterpressed coasters from 12fifteen.
Eat and learn.
Friday, May 16th, 2008Earlier this week I found these a-ma-zing linen napkins at Anthropologie in the Back Bay from interior designer Sheila Bridges, and picked up ones for Italy, Spain, South Africa, and India. (Here they are, spread out on my spacious new desk(!).) I love that they are a bit rustic, what with the rough [...]
