Artwalk 2008.
May 12, 2008
Yesterday was a fine day for an open studios visit, and the Fort Point Artwalk definitely delivered. Here are a few shots from my wanderings around this art-loving neighborhood in Southie (which, as I discovered on Saturday evening on my way to see the Death Cab show, also serves a fantastic lamb burger*).
Checking out the paper and home goods from Bob’s Your Uncle.

T-shirts from husband and wife silk-screening team Seth and Beth Marois, a.k.a. Family Dinner For One.

Hally McGehean’s outdoor installation “Summer Story” captures some of the simple pleasures of my own life, too.

The group space at 35 Channel Center Street, including the recently featured Katie Rowley.

Whimsical watercolor critters from Claire Eder.

And finally, this odd trio of canvases that initially seems soothingly vacant… but actually contains what appear to be prancing herds of very subtle pegasuses (pegasii? pegasae?). Totally delightful.

* Edit: Dave requests that I note that this burger required at least four kinds of animal to make: lamb, cow, pig, and finally, human (oh!).
