Friday, August 29th, 2008After a long wait, Snow & Graham’s website is at last live! Here’s a preview of their line of letterpress.
Also, there is a whole section on the site dedicated to sweet treats, for no reason other than that… they like them. I knew I was totally into them.
That’s all for today - happy [...]
Moo.
Friday, August 29th, 2008Some really cool and amazingly varied work from designer and illustrator Valerie Jar. That family portrait of a little cow standing nonchalantly between two steaks makes me laugh. O god… am I a bad person?
Check out her blog here, too.
2009 on my mind.
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Egg Press‘ 2009 calendar is now available on their website. Actually, make that their two 2009 calendars - one letterpress-printed and one offset-printed. I’m generally a fan of the tactile quality of letterpress, but the gorgeously vibrant designs on the offset calendar makes this a tough choice!
These posters don’t suck.
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Check out this array of seriously awesome original posters from The Poster List - a little bit vintage and thoroughly, well, rockin’. I’m especially tickled by their take on the ubiquitous Keep Calm poster…

Lauren Nassef.
Monday, August 25th, 2008I love love love this drawing (Bananas for Sale) from Chicago illustrator Lauren Nassef, part of her A Drawing a Day blog series. Her linework has a wonderful fineness and sureness about it. Who knew a string of bananas could look so poetic…
See more of her work here, and shop it here.

Taking notes.
Friday, August 22nd, 2008(Taking the Boltbus down to NYC today for the weekend. The wifi’s a little iffy but blog I must! - come dropped connections or close quarters.)
Jot down thoughts and to-do’s in these new lovelies from cake + milk paperie. Line graphics are hand-printed in subtle milky ink on brown-paper moleskine cahiers - beautifully [...]
An other half.
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008Thinking of someone? Send them one of these sweet notes from elum. Letterpressed onto cotton rag paper, the reduced color palates, white space, and free-flowing lines keep these two cuties clean and cheerful.
And as always, visit the website to see their full line of letterpressed invitations and announcements.
I am an unstoppable genius.
Monday, August 18th, 2008On Friday evening I was rushing around after work, getting ready to go out for Christine’s birthday dinner. I rummaged in my closet for whatever wrapping paper I had lying about, packaged up her gift, and threw in the Egg Press card (available here, by the way) that I had picked up a few [...]
Simply ink.
Friday, August 15th, 2008I love this Berlin, Berlin drawing from Helsinki-based artist Hanna Konola. It’s somehow simultaneously provincial and etheral… all wavering daylight and ink-and-water purity.
Abstract forms and subdued colors with a shot of pink suggest bare branches, snowscapes, and frozen-over ponds on her silkscreened Talvi/Winter cards (available on Rare Device). Pretty simplicity in the presentation [...]
Tranquil tablescapes.
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008(Hmm… today is apparently a good day for alliterative blog post titles!)
Anyway, I always enjoy visiting Carol Gillot’s Paris Breakfasts for her sweet watercolors, and today she has up these truly lovely photos - I have to share. I’m a sucker for hydrangea and heather (among other things), so I also love those [...]
Plastic pears.
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008These udder-like pear juice bottles designed by Conor Hagan make me laugh. Check out their little feet.
See more cool design work from Conor on his website.

Mini monuments.
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008Lots of tiny, mod silhouettes make up this ad from the Centre des monuments nationaux. Very cool!
See if you recognize any… (click the pic to see a larger image).
