The bright side(s).
November 24, 2008
It was absolutely freezing in Boston this weekend… the kind of weather that makes me wonder why I live here – below-freezing temps, blustery winds, early sundown – the works. Cruel, cruel, times! I foolishly attempted to take a stroll to meet some friends on Saturday afternoon, and let’s just say they finally found me defeated and barely sensate, hiding out like a desperate wild animal in the shelter of the down outerwear section of a nearby department store.
Well, at heart I am a positive person, so I see two bright sides to winter’s sudden arrival in my city. First, Thanksgiving is this week, which obviously means extended feasting for all (always a great thing in my mind). Plus I’m headed down to Florida tomorrow to spend the holiday there, so I’m getting a brief respite from these unfriendly conditions (haha, suckas!).
Second, this season always inspires a bounty of beautiful design work (perhaps second only to Valentine’s Day) – like these great pieces from Linda & Harriet. They even take the best of their collection and package it all together for you with a bow and a little pig.
Ah, I can only hope these will tide me over til spring.
