The warm and fuzzies.

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

For anyone with a bent for crochet and kawaii, take a peek at Tiny Yarn Animals by Tamie Snow, to be published in early August. I got a sneak peek at the book this week - 21 round-bodied and beady-eyed critters assembled with (what I am told are) basic stitches cavort through the pages [...]

Drool drool drool.

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I keep eyeing this hefty tome at my local bookshop, and over time I’ve gone from simply admiring it to fully-blown coveting it. 1080 Recipes, by mother-daughter team Simone and Inés Ortega, has been Spain’s best-selling cookbook for the past 30 years. Ok, I’m going to be at the Cape until Thursday on a much-needed vacation, and will try to update when I return. May I never work another 80-hour week.
Incidentally, I finished Deathly Hallows. I sat down with it Saturday afternoon and read through the night. I don’t want to spoil it here [...]

The day Voldemort dies, Snape is redeemed (but also dies), and Harry and friends live happily ever after. I HOPE.

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Oh, I think Hagrid will probably die too. Alas.
I’ve spent the past week in increasingly feverish agitation over the impending release of the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. My preordered copy is being delivered tomorrow morning, and I will continue to carefully guard my unspoiled state until then.
