Desk and office goodies
« Previous EntriesWork pretty.
Saturday, March 21st, 2009I’ve been spending a lot of time at the office lately, which has turned my attention to the sad fact that I’ve neglected to stock my office drawer with supplies and knick-knacks prettier than the standard-issue. So! I’m on a mission to dig up snazzier replacements. Here are some contenders.

Oh-nine.
Monday, December 22nd, 2008We just got pummeled with snow all weekend, so I’ve been holed up - staying warm, making delicious chili, falling asleep without warning, and thinking about flipping the page to balmier months.
Speaking of which - with 2009 just around the corner, it’s a good time to do a little survey of my favorite calendars. [...]
The bright side(s).
Monday, November 24th, 2008It was absolutely freezing in Boston this weekend… the kind of weather that makes me wonder why I live here - below-freezing temps, blustery winds, early sundown - the works. Cruel, cruel, times! I foolishly attempted to take a stroll to meet some friends on Saturday afternoon, and let’s just say they finally [...]
9SpotMonk.
Thursday, October 30th, 2008I’m lusting after the papers that New Jersey printshop 9SpotMonk uses for their line of notes and cards - all beautifully tactile reclaimed cotton, which allows for a really deep imprint. Here are some snippets from 9SpotMonk’s collection of readymade notes and cards as well as custom design work for weddings, announcements, and invitations.
Plus, [...]
All business. Mostly.
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Your whole professional identity is a lot to cram onto a little card - but these beautifully designed business cards seem to manage. Ranging from the utterly minimalist to complex contraptions that pop out and fold in on themselves, they experiment with shapes and materials and are all ultimately both utilitarian and beautiful. [...]
Textiles.
Monday, October 27th, 2008A little aside from paper to bring you a few textile-centric creations from all over the map. Below are Swedish design-inspired drawstring bags from Portland-based Design Night, raw wool cozies from Berlin design house
Well, it’s true.
Friday, October 24th, 2008Well, it is - at least in my well-documented opinion. Pair of letterpress calendars printed on 100% recycled white card stock with 12-month tear away calendar by Knoxville-based Yee-Haw Industrial Letterpress, available at Paper ‘n’ Stitch. Check out their blog for more!
Present & Correct.
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008Lots of charming paper products from London shop Present & Correct, including originals as well as items from designers as near as Peckham and as far-flung as Seoul. Take a peek!
Clockwise from top left: Retro-chef Letter Set | Bonne Pensee Notebook (always a good thing to have!) | Sveriges Notebook | Notisbok | [...]
Snow & Graham on the interwebs.
Friday, August 29th, 2008After a long wait, Snow & Graham’s website is at last live! Here’s a preview of their line of letterpress.
Also, there is a whole section on the site dedicated to sweet treats, for no reason other than that… they like them. I knew I was totally into them.
That’s all for today - happy [...]
2009 on my mind.
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Egg Press‘ 2009 calendar is now available on their website. Actually, make that their two 2009 calendars - one letterpress-printed and one offset-printed. I’m generally a fan of the tactile quality of letterpress, but the gorgeously vibrant designs on the offset calendar makes this a tough choice!
Taking notes.
Friday, August 22nd, 2008(Taking the Boltbus down to NYC today for the weekend. The wifi’s a little iffy but blog I must! - come dropped connections or close quarters.)
Jot down thoughts and to-do’s in these new lovelies from cake + milk paperie. Line graphics are hand-printed in subtle milky ink on brown-paper moleskine cahiers - beautifully [...]
Rock paper scissors.
Friday, August 8th, 2008No matter how much of my life migrates to Google Calendar (quite a lot of it these days, I can tell you), I still love notebooks - especially these beautifully tactile, scalloped-edged ones from Nantaka Joy. Joy’s foil patterns are subtle and gorgeous, inspired by everything from agate to lace.
